Questions about our adoption process can generally be answered by reviewing the Adoption FAQ's. ?Athena appears to be a lab mix puppy whose mom looks like a border collie mix. Athena is cream colored with a short to medium coat and she is 9 weeks, born August 9. She and her siblings are very friendly with other dogs, cats, chickens, and all people! These pups have had a good start in life and are ready for their forever homes. If you are looking for a medium large breed and are ready for a puppy please consider Athena and apply to adopt at yvpr.org/adoptions Please remember that Athena is a puppy and puppy behavior comes with the package. They need basic training and potty training along with being provided chew toys to encourage proper chewing habits. All puppies require socializing from a young age to help them become the best, most well-rounded dog they can be. An application must be filled out and accepted before a meet can be set up. If accepted, you will hear from us within 72 hours. You will have the opportunity to ask questions before you meet the pet; an adoption may or may not happen at that time. We do adopt outside the Yakima area IF you are able to come to Yakima to pick up your adopted pet. We do not have a kennel facility; all of our pets are in foster homes. Therefore, meets and adoptions take place at either our office or at a place chosen by the adoption coordinator. If a pet has 'Adoption Pending' beside its name, an adoption is imminent. Please fill out an application anyway because adoptions don't always go through. Your application will be kept on file for 30 days in case you find another pet you'd like to apply for.
